What are the pros and cons of working in the semiconductor industry today?

After the implementation of the reform, innovation, and opening up policy, China's social economy has undergone rapid and sustained development for three to four decades. The old management model that heavily relied on real estate and traditional infrastructure projects, as well as low-end industrial production and manufacturing, has reached its limit. As a result, there will be a necessary shift towards high-tech industries such as biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and high-end product manufacturing, as well as the service sector. This means that in terms of future job opportunities, individuals may either pursue careers in high-tech fields through attending renowned schools or seeking higher education to gain access to industrial information resources. Alternatively, others may excel in the service industry by providing top-notch services.

Obviously, semiconductors are a good choice, but it requires brand-name universities and high degrees, which should be chosen according to the individual.

According to a post stating that ten million college graduates enter the society every year in recent years, I expect that many jobs will be replaced in the future by AI technology. With such fierce competition for employment, individuals will have to test their upper limits of personal ability, which are determined by their interests and talents.

Moving forward, there will be a strong shift towards extensive industrialization and automated production. This will require not only advanced technology, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and high-end manufacturing, but also the expertise of top scientific and technological professionals. Meanwhile, the majority of individuals will likely pursue careers in the service industry, where skilled and unique artisans are in high demand. Traditionally, previous generations have emphasized the importance of learning a trade to ensure self-sufficiency. While it is certainly acceptable to aspire to become a civil servant or pursue a career path, falling short of your potential may result in lifelong disappointment.

College students' difficulties in finding employment are primarily due to downward economic development, a lack of demand and an increase in supply; But the more in such a job market environment, the more challenging it is for us to choose the right career and technology; Your personal talent determines your ability to carry on the upper limit, choose through their own interest in more and give full play to the talent of vocational education to have the opportunity to achieve more and greater accomplishments!

I'm an architect. I've enjoyed drawing since primary school. I often doodled on my textbooks. As I got older, I realized I had a strong interest in drawing and my ability to visualize space.

Considering my major and my interest in space drawing, I applied to the Department of Architecture of the Provincial Architectural College after graduation and became an architectural designer.

In terms of work experience, my passion for painting, specifically geometric and spatial art, kept me energized and fulfilled throughout my projects. With a great sense of achievement, I eventually became the lead designer for several years. While the real estate market has affected our design institute's business in recent years, I am confident that I could easily pivot to a career as a home decor designer if necessary. After all, I have already acquired fundamental skills in this area.

It is widely believed in the workplace that the incorporation of personal interests into one's career greatly contributes to enthusiasm and success. In 1959, a renowned professor of psychology named Holland introduced the theory of occupational interest, which has had a significant societal influence. According to Holland, individuals' personalities and interests are closely linked to their career choices, and strong interests can serve as a powerful motivator for activities. Any job that aligns with an individual's professional interests can enhance their passion and drive, resulting in active and satisfying engagement in their work. This, in turn, allows for the full utilization of personal potential and leads to more meaningful work performance.
