Don't forget to praise your school!

This will make me look too unprofessional! Hong Kong entrepreneur At least we are graduate students!

Even so, I should be commended! Polyu jumped 16 places to 75th in the world in the final days of QS College and University Rankings for 2021! I will then discuss my true feelings about learning at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, from the school's learning environment, teaching staff, infrastructure, and so on.

Since I always felt that choosing a school was more than simply choosing a city to live in, I chose Hong Kong as my study destination. employability university ranking I like the cultural atmosphere of Hong Kong very much, and the collision between retro and avant-garde makes me feel wonderful. And the red wall of PolyU has realized all my fantasies about a university!

The environment and infrastructure of the school

In the beginning, I was a bit concerned about PolyU's small campus. Later, I learned that some schools still have to climb mountains just to get to school, and PolyU seems to be a wonderful school!

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University of Science and Technology of China is located in Hung Hom, with a very convenient geographical location, close to science museums and online shopping malls like Harbour City. There are also many delicious foods nearby! ! (Welcome to everyone to play!) The subway station goes directly to the school gate, and the bus stop is at the school gate. And the traffic is super convenient.

On campus, the Polytechnic has two main traditional cafeterias (VA and cultural and recreational), as well as a variety of dishes, so you won't get tired of eating the same thing for a week! The campus has many small restaurants, including tea houses, American restaurants, and Starbucks. By the way, students get a 30% discount at Starbucks! Rounding up doesn't cost any money.

Second, the school facilities are excellent! It goes without saying that the HKUST library has a lot of seats, and that the discussion and study rooms should be separated. Besides, I enjoy going to the library because of its excellent learning and discussion environment! However, the air conditioning in the library is very good.

Whether you want to play in a band or practice on your own, Polyu has free music classrooms that provide basic instruments and stereo sound. To apply, you just need to make an appointment in advance.

Additionally, it should be noted that the school guidance room is a valuable asset that may go unnoticed by many. During the orientation meeting, I had the opportunity to interact with a teacher in the psychological counseling room and engage in various activities that highlighted the importance of addressing students' mental well-being. These educators are not just trained psychologists; they are available for all students, not just those experiencing psychological issues. While academic success is a top priority at this university, it should also prioritize nurturing students' emotional resilience.

The bridge built by the school last year, the students who used to study at night, and the scenery are truly invincible!

The learning environment and the teaching staff

We invite famous professors from various universities to teach professional courses every year at our college! Even though we study Chinese culture, we have foreign professors from Holland and America teaching! As I listen to their fluent Chinese, I feel inferior to them! Teachers are constantly learning new things and improving with us as they conduct their own research and write papers in addition to teaching.

Different colleges and universities will also have different management models. Our Chinese culture department, for example, has set up the Little Free Library to make finding information easier for students. Also, there is a 500 Hong Kong Dollar printing fee on each student card, which other departments don't seem to have! (laughter)

In addition to related professional courses, the school also attaches great importance to our field trips. We visited the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Tai O Fishing Village, and West Kowloon Opera Center last semester. Looking back, it was like a spring outing back then!

If there are students around, don't ask, don't know! You never know how much talent is lurking around, so in such an environment, I can't relax for a moment!

Students' feelings after one year at PolyU

As a member of "The worst class in history," I've gotten used to being "Welcome" by everyone.

As we all know, due to last year's turmoil and this year's epidemic, our study time in the fall of 2019 will be very realistic, about two months. Therefore, relatives and friends often ask me about the gold diploma discount and security issues.

But let me say this: first of all, the outbreak of unrest was mostly at the end of the last semester, and it did not really affect the entire class, but the destruction of the school really made us sad (tears). This had a major impact in the second half of the year, but it did not only affect students in Hong Kong. Polyu also is actively organizing online teaching, and the second semester began at the end of February.

In addition, the issue of homework pressure persists despite the introduction of online courses. Take my experience of studying corporate culture education in China, for instance. Our homework and papers (as seen below) were often used for reference and analysis. However, these online courses also pose a challenge when it comes to delivering presentations as they require us to actively and independently gather relevant information. While we may not have access to all the social resources on campus at the moment, from an economic standpoint, this "unique" learning and working environment allows us to acquire not only classroom knowledge but also a range of management skills.

The year has passed quickly, to be honest. My biggest regret this year is not getting to know Hong Kong better. I have been studying in Hong Kong since August and will graduate shortly. He left Hong Kong for various reasons and returned for various reasons. I have yet to visit many places, ate many delicious foods, but I am still very happy, I decided to study in polytechnics last year.
